All Saints Council 11402 History

All Saints Council 11402 was constituted in 1994.  Our Brother Knights Frank Filipowicz and John Lynch from All Saints Catholic Church in Dunwoody, Georgia recognized the need for a local council in the rapidly expanding parish.  Their petition was reviewed by General Agent, Douglas Gotsch, under the auspices of the Georgia State Council, and with the support of Pastor Msgr. R. Donald Kiernan.

KofC District Deputy Dwight Person and Field Agent, Rick Abell gave presentations at a meeting held at All Saints on June 14, 1994.  Following a favorable response by the men in attendance, a recruitment drive was initiated.  Twenty-one active members of other Councils transferred to the newly formed Council 11402.  Parish Knights who were inactive were contacted and eighteen individuals were reactivated.  A drive for new members proved highly successful.  Thirty-five members were initiated on July 11, 1994, one week after the Council was chartered on July 4, 1994.

The membership selected All Saints as the Council name at a meeting held on July 26, 1994 and elected a slate of officers; Brother Knight Frank Welter became the first Grand Knight of the newly established Council.  Seventy pioneer Knights of All Saints Council began one of the most active and rapidly growing Councils in the state of Georgia.

Early in 2002, a plan was developed to build our own meeting area.  By converting a large storage room underneath Kiernan Hall (the Boy Scout hut)   McGivney Hall became our Council home.  We now host monthly business meetings, Assembly meetings, and social events here.

Most Fourth Degree members of Council 11402 belong to Father Charles J. Watters Assembly 2688, Dunwoody, Georgia.  Click here to go to the Assembly 2688 website.
